Custom Design
The creation of the Eshop for Alimos Deli was based on a completely personalized (custom) design, which was not limited to standardized standards or ready-made templates. On the contrary, it was developed entirely from scratch based on the specific needs of the business, its identity and its desire for a distinctive, highly aesthetic presence on the internet.
Initially, we studied in depth the philosophy of Alimos Deli, the origin and quality of its products, as well as the audience it addresses. Our goal was to digitally capture the boutique experience of a physical delicatessen store, conveying to the visitor the sense of authenticity, quality and care that the business offers.
The graphic design was based on a carefully selected color palette, inspired by earthy, natural tones that refer to fine foods and traditional grocery stores, with a contemporary aesthetic approach. The typography combines elegant serif and clean sans-serif characters, to highlight the balance between tradition and modernity. All graphic details – from the banners and product images, to the buttons, price tags and checkout page – were created with absolute consistency and care for the end user experience.
The information architecture, page layout and overall navigation experience were designed with user convenience in mind at every stage. Particular emphasis was placed on the home page, which is organized around selected products, thematic sections and smart paths that guide the visitor naturally to the purchase. The category and product pages offer clarity, ease of reading and an emphasis on the product itself, while the purchase process is streamlined, without distractions, with the goal of conversion.
The design was designed from the ground up with a mobile-first approach. Particular emphasis was placed on mobile device navigation, ensuring excellent adaptation to mobile and tablet devices, without loss of functionality or speed. The experience remains equally enjoyable regardless of the screen, enhancing the availability and performance of the Eshop in every environment.
During the design process, we worked closely with the business, implementing iterative feedback and testing cycles to ensure that the final result fully reflects the vision of the Alimos Deli team. The result is not just a beautiful store – it is a functional tool with a strong identity, which stands out aesthetically, strengthens the customer’s connection with the brand and gives the business prestige, credibility and competitive advantage.
Page & Product SEO
Search engine optimization, both at the page and product level, was one of the main development axes for the Alimos Deli online store. From the very beginning of construction, we incorporated SEO strategies with the aim of not only increasing the visibility of the eshop in Google searches, but also of its substantial and long-term digital establishment.
Our approach was based on understanding the buying audience and the keywords they search for. We conducted detailed research on phrases and terms related to delicatessen products, Greek and imported food items, as well as the geographical location of the store. The SEO strategy was organized to attract an audience looking for premium products either in general or specifically in the Alimos area or the southern suburbs.
At the page level, we ensured that every single section of the eshop – from the home page to the categories, thematic sections and static pages, such as “About Us” and “Contact Us” – was fully optimized. Each page has a unique and targeted meta title and description, a structured hierarchy of headings (H1, H2, H3) and a search engine-friendly URL structure, with Greek words where necessary and the absence of unnecessary characters or parameters.
At the product level, optimization became even more detailed. Each product received a unique SEO title, keyword-tailored description, and optimized slug (URL). We paid special attention to the alt text of product images, so as to enhance the store’s image on Google Images. Structured data (schema markup) was also implemented so that Google could better understand product details – such as prices, inventory, and reviews – and display them in searches with rich snippets, significantly improving visibility and click-through rates.
Internal linking was carefully organized to enhance navigation while simultaneously transferring SEO value from the main pages to the products. The homepage, for example, intelligently promotes selected categories and recommendations, creating a dynamic SEO flow between content and commercial objectives.
This whole approach is not just technical. The goal is to establish Alimos Deli not just as another online delicatessen, but as a digital destination trusted by those looking for quality food products. Organic traffic is a critical factor for the sustainability and growth of an eshop, and for this reason SEO was not a stage of construction – it was a pillar of the overall strategy.
It is worth noting that the implementation of SEO was carried out in full compliance with the modern practices of Google's Core Web Vitals and the principles of user-first indexing, ensuring that the content is not only machine-friendly, but also fully adapted to the needs of the user.
The result of this multi-level optimization is an online store that builds organic traffic over time, achieves top positions in search results, and ensures increased visibility, accessibility, and recognition in the local and national market.
Responsive Design
At the core of the user experience of the Alimos Deli online store is the implementation of a truly responsive design - a design that dynamically adapts to every type of device, screen resolution and navigation environment, without losing the aesthetic integrity or functionality of the page in the slightest.
Our strategy follows a mobile-first philosophy, starting with designing for smaller screens, such as mobile phones and tablets, before expanding to larger resolutions. This choice reflects the modern reality of the online marketplace, where the majority of visitors – and often buyers – use mobile as their primary means of browsing and purchasing. Consequently, Alimos Deli was designed from the ground up to be fully accessible, functional and attractive on mobile devices.
On a technical level, responsive design was implemented through sophisticated grid systems and media queries, which allow the structural elements of the website to “fold” or be repositioned depending on the device dimension. Images, titles, navigation menus, forms and shopping carts are intelligently adapted to always ensure the best viewing and interaction experience. The menu, for example, is transformed into a clean and practical burger menu in a mobile environment, maintaining clarity and immediate accessibility to the main categories.
The user experience remains unified and seamless across all screen sizes. This is not a simple “compression” of content, but a holistic redesign per dimension. Thus, products maintain the correct image-to-text ratio, calls-to-action are always clear and functional, while the user can comfortably navigate, view details, add products to the cart or complete their purchase without confusion, delays or errors.
The responsive approach also extends to loading speeds: only the necessary data is loaded on each device, while images and scripts are optimized with lazy loading, caching and dynamic compression techniques. This ensures not only an excellent viewing experience, but also high performance, even in conditions of limited bandwidth – something particularly critical for users browsing on the go or via mobile data.
Furthermore, responsive design is not only about the end-user experience, but is a key SEO factor, since Google prioritizes mobile-friendly websites when ranking in search results. Therefore, responsive architecture directly contributes to organic Eshop traffic.
Ultimately, Alimos Deli’s responsive design is not just a technical feature. It’s the tool that allows the brand to be everywhere – on every screen, every moment, every customer – in a consistent, elegant, and effective way. It’s what turns a mobile visitor into a loyal customer.
Speed Optimization
The loading speed of an Eshop is not just a matter of convenience – it is one of the most critical factors that determine the user experience, its performance in search engines, but also the sales themselves. At Alimos Deli, speed optimization was a cornerstone of our technical implementation. We were not satisfied with building a beautiful and functional online store; we made sure that it was fast, efficient and stable in every access condition.
The optimization started at the architecture and infrastructure level. A fast server with HTTP/2 support, SSD disks and improved backend response were selected, which, combined with best caching practices, reduce the waiting time for each request to a minimum. A dynamic caching system (object/page caching) was implemented, which temporarily maintains processed pages and delivers content to the end user in a flash, even in cases of high load.
Images – a critical element in any e-shop – have undergone multi-level optimization. Each file has been intelligently compressed, without loss of quality, while modern image formats such as WebP are used for even smaller sizes and faster loading. At the same time, we implemented lazy loading techniques, so that images are loaded only when needed (e.g. when scrolling), significantly reducing the initial page load time.
Frontend resources – such as JavaScript, CSS and fonts – were consolidated and minimized, avoiding unnecessary requests to the server. Scripts that did not provide any real value to the end user were removed, while non-blocking JavaScript loading was used, ensuring that the page display was not delayed by third-party resources. In addition, preload and resource prioritization mechanisms were utilized, which help the browser load the most critical elements first for immediate page rendering.
The loading speed assessment was done through tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse, where Alimos Deli Eshop showed excellent performance on both desktop and mobile versions. Indicators such as Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID) and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) have been optimized to ensure a completely smooth and immediate browsing experience.
It is worth emphasizing that speed is not just a technical advantage; it is a conversion factor. Delays in loading lead to cart abandonment and a decrease in trust. On the contrary, the immediate response of Alimos Deli's Eshop reinforces the feeling of professionalism and reliability, keeping the visitor active and oriented towards the goal: the purchase.
Finally, loading speed is also a key requirement for good SEO performance. Google now evaluates websites not only based on content, but also on user experience – and speed is a key indicator of this experience. Through our overall Speed Optimization strategy, Alimos Deli gains a comparative advantage in ranking results, user engagement and – most importantly – in effectively converting traffic into sales.
Social Media Integration
Connecting to social media is one of the most effective ways to enhance interaction with the public and promote the Alimos Deli online store. At Psomiadis Web Development & Digital Marketing, we understand the importance of a strategic presence on social networks and the need for direct, flexible and complete connection of the website with social media.
Alimos Deli features easy and effortless integration with the most popular social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn, allowing users to interact with the store's content, share products, follow new offers and participate in company competitions and activities. The integration strategy integrates social sharing buttons in prominent places on the website, such as on product pages, offers, and popular categories, giving visitors the opportunity to share their favorite products or offers with their audience with a simple click.
Social media links are not limited to the ability to interact socially through sharing buttons, but extend to dynamic features such as integration of social media feeds on the Eshop pages. For example, the Instagram feed appears in real time, displaying product photos and promotional posts, while the Facebook feed offers the latest updates on the store's offers, events or new products. This interaction enhances the sense of "liveliness" and continuous activity around the brand.
The connection with social media is not limited to user interaction, but extends to automatic publishing of products and content through platforms such as Instagram Shopping and Facebook Shop. Eshop users can view and purchase Alimos Deli products directly from social networks, without having to visit the website. Their integration with WooCommerce allows for this seamless experience, where the system updates products and prices automatically across all platforms without additional effort or delays.
In addition, we use the Facebook Pixel and Google Tag Manager features to track user behavior and optimize social media advertising campaigns. Through them, we can provide personalized ads and reach the right audience based on their interests and purchasing habits. These analytical capabilities help increase campaign effectiveness and maximize return on investment (ROI).
Connecting with social media, beyond the practical part of interaction and sales, also strengthens Alimos Deli's brand awareness, creating an open and accessible channel of communication with the public. Frequent interaction on social networks, such as responding to comments, publishing new products or special offers, creates a community around the brand, making it more recognizable and trustworthy.
Using Woocommerce
Choosing WooCommerce as the platform for Alimos Deli's online store was a strategic decision that combines flexibility, reliability and easy scalability. WooCommerce is one of the most popular and trusted e-commerce solutions worldwide, offering all the tools a modern business needs to operate effectively and expand into digital commerce.
By integrating it into Alimos Deli, we ensured a fully customized shopping experience that perfectly fits the needs of the business. WooCommerce allows us to easily manage product inventory, prices, categories, and orders, while also incorporating modern features for a seamless user experience.
One of the main advantages of WooCommerce integration is the ability to have a flexible and scalable payment system. WooCommerce supports a variety of payment methods, from credit and debit cards to PayPal and bank transfers. The checkout process is easy and secure, while order management on the store side is extremely simple and organized, reducing the chances of errors and delays.
WooCommerce is not just limited to product and order management, but also offers powerful analytics and reporting tools. From tracking sales to analyzing user behavior and which products are most popular, WooCommerce provides all the information a business needs to get data to guide its marketing and inventory strategies.
Additionally, its integration with WooCommerce ensures full compatibility with plugins and extensions in the WordPress ecosystem. From the ability to add special discounts and offers to integration with warehouse systems, CRM, and marketing automation tools, WooCommerce opens up a world of possibilities for e-shop management.
WooCommerce's ease of use is another reason why it was chosen for Alimos Deli. The store is managed through a user-friendly dashboard, which allows managers to add products, edit shipping information, manage orders, and monitor store performance with just a few clicks.
Eshop Security
The security of an online store is essential to protect both user data and the integrity of the business. At Alimos Deli, the security of the eshop platform is an absolute priority. We use modern tools and practices to ensure that customer transactions and personal data are protected from any potential threat or breach. Security is not only about protection from external risks, but also about ensuring the smooth operation of the store for its users.
One of the most basic security features integrated into Alimos Deli is the use of SSL (Secure Socket Layer), which encrypts all communications between the user and the store's server. This ensures that all data exchanged during the purchase process (such as credit card details, addresses and personal information) remains confidential and protected from third parties. The use of SSL also has a positive effect on SEO, as search engines, such as Google, prioritize secure websites with HTTPS.
Alimos Deli is equipped with strong firewalls and monitoring systems to detect and prevent potential attacks. The monitoring system detects unusual activity and identifies potential threats, thus providing an immediate response to any suspicious behavior. This method of protection helps to immediately prevent intrusions, ensuring that the eshop remains secure throughout its operation.
The security of customer data is of paramount importance. At Alimos Deli, we have implemented General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards, ensuring that the collection and storage of user data is carried out with complete transparency and in accordance with the requirements of the regulation. Customers are fully informed about the use of their personal information and have the ability to check or delete their data at any time, in accordance with EU law.
Payment security is also a high priority. For the payment process, Alimos Deli integrates trusted and secure payment providers (such as PayPal, Stripe, etc.) that use the latest technologies to ensure the secure processing of cards and financial data. Payments are protected with advanced tokenization and 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) systems, offering additional layers of security to protect transactions.
In addition, we implement regular updates and patching of the eshop software to ensure that the system remains resilient to new threats. WooCommerce, which is the store's platform, as well as the various plugins and themes, are constantly updated to avoid potential vulnerabilities. These updates include security fixes and protection enhancements, which are applied immediately without delay.
